What stems creativity?
Anyone and everyone can be creative but in most cases tough situations and problems lead us to actually tap into it. Most of us derive creativity from heartbreak and failure which in turn create masterpieces like the Marvel universe. I would be lying if I said it wasn't the same for me, yes my failure turned to rage and my heartbreak to helplessness made me start writing poems but besides the fact that I could write over 20 poems overthinking about it, there was hardly any that I could call a good read or one that I felt satisfied about, because at the end of it it was only my side of the story and a form a self pity to make myself feel better about it.
But when I started to write after accepting my failure and heartbreak and allowed myself to experience growth and the feeling of being loved the right way I could write much more i.e. produce quality over quantity, it gave me a broader spectrum to explore, understand and to actually convey emotions without victimizing myself. Most of the inspiration being through my surroundings, it made me observe more closely and gave me the ability to convey my point of view on things in general without over analyzing.
My writings have become more simplistic since but have deeper meanings if one may be able to visualize it. So, that bringing me the answer to the self posed question "What stems creativity?" Creativity comes when you leave behind the world you have built in your mind revolving around "You". It blossoms when you are more open to change, to the world and people beyond the fence you have built.
Yes, losses may be a reason you realise your creativity, but over analyzing and dwelling on them will only make you regret the time gone by, a time you can't change where the output regardless of what you do now is going to be the same. But when you accept it and move forward you give that immature, self pitying self of yours, the chance to discover a more profound and mature version that would be able to create a masterpiece like no other. A masterpiece that may actually end up having a happy ending or the success you once longed for and much beyond.
So tell me what stems your creativity?
